Those who invest in projects also want to see the results: concrete changes in the way in which organisations and people work and in the lives of those people for whom the projects are set up. It is always important to demonstrate what results have been achieved and from this point on, to clearly describe or quantify the results. The only way to achieve this is to have a good follow-up for the project activities (monitoring) and to evaluate the results (ex-ante, mid-term and/or ex-post).
ACE Europe designs made-to-measure monitoring systems and trains organisations and teams in results-based management, monitoring and evaluation and the use of logical frameworks. ACE Europe can also present a long list of evaluations (large, small, simple, complex) in various sectors.
Notable examples:
- Evaluation of the output financing system of the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam - KIT (financial analysis, analysis of the Tropical Museum, Tropical Theatre, Biomedical Services, Development, Information and Library Services) commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Evaluation of the programmes for HIV and AIDS of the Dutch cofinancing organisations (NOVIB, PLAN Nederland, ICCO, HIVOS and CORDAID) commissioned by these five organisations
- Evaluation of the effects of the Oxfam Fair Trade schools project on students, teachers and schools in Flanders, commissioned by Oxfam Fair Trade.
- End evaluation of the programme for food security, executed by the Belgian NGO TRIAS in the Mai Ndombe region in the DR Congo commissioned by the Belgian Survival Fund (BSF).
- Evaluation of the cooperation between Maasmechelen (Belgium) and Tshwane (South Africa) aimed at the reinforcement of governance capacities of the Tshwane local council in the field of youth policy.
